Decision theory attempts to define a problem space for a particular type of problem then map the solution space of potential solutions to the that type of problem.

There is seldom a single solution to a single problem.

The creative adaptation of the profile of the problems the bio-algorithm solves can provide new insight into novel solutions of problems.

There are four connections that can be made.

First, non bio algorithms applied problems/solutions can be extended to other non bio problems using analogies/metaphors/similes.  This is common in physical sciences.

Second, Bio algorithms applied to a problem/solution can be extended to other bio problems using analogies/metaphors/similes.  This is common  in the biological and social sciences.

The cross over applying bio algorithms to non bio problems (the third) is relatively new and applying non bio algorithms to bio problems (the fourth) are newer still.

It is that last two that interest me because they lack interest that the traditional sciences provide and also by exploring both of those cross over points, they may lead to/support the development of artificial life.
